Nottingham Together Let's Talk about… Disability Hate Crime

Monday 12th October, 2pm – 3:30pm

Organised by Nottingham City Council, Nottinghamshire Police and Nottinghamshire Mencap

How can we come together to tackle prejudice against disabled people? Introduction to services available to disabled people and hear about people's experiences.


Launch event: Nottingham Together, Let's Talk About… tackling prejudice

Monday 12th October, 3.30pm – 5pm

Organised by Nottingham City Council and Nottinghamshire Police

Hear from local groups using different tactics to tackle prejudice in Nottingham at the launch of the Nottingham City Hate Crime Strategy. We are pleased to be joined by Mike Waite from the Tim Parry Jonathan Bell Peace Foundation who will be talking about their work resolving conflict through conversation. Hosted by Cllr Rebecca Langton and featuring a panel of local groups working against hate in Nottingham.

A panel of people from different faiths talking about hate crime, myths and stereotypes. Featuring speakers from Tell MAMA, the Community Security Trust, National Holocaust Centre.


Nottingham Together Let's Talk about… Black Lives

Thursday 15th October, 1pm – 2:30pm

Organised by Nottingham City Council and Truth Mental Health in collaboration with Communities Inc, Nottinghamshire Police. An online discussion about Black lives, hate crime, Black history with live singers and spoken word performers. Featuring local councillors, Nextgen and the Plentiful Poet
